Attention BVM Students: Interested in a career in law, media, engineering, business, or medicine? Professional men and women from these and other vocations will be presenting at two upcoming District-sponsored Conferences.
1. For the guys — the ADELANTE LATINO Conference — Saturday, February 23, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at San Diego State University. (Transportation will be provided).
For the females — the ADELANTE MUJER Conference — Saturday, March 2, 7:45 am to 2:00 pm at Eastlake Middle School.
Space is limited, so pick up a registration packet from Ms. Nuno in the Counseling Center, the Main Office, or see your counselor. Don’t miss this great opportunity to gain first-hand career information!
The Promotion Ceremony for the Bonita Vista Middle School 8th Grade Class of 2013 has been set for Tuesday, June 4, 9:00 am at Sleep Train Amphitheater, 2040 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista.
The District will be hosting a READISTEP Workshop for 8th Grade students and parents on Tuesday, February 5, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, at Rancho del Rey Middle School. A postcard with this information has been mailed home. If you are planning to attend, please see your counselor during Nutrition Break to pick up your RESULTS. Last day to pick up is Monday, February 4.
Students showing the greatest increase in their GPA from the first Progress Report to the Semester Report Card will be honored with a luncheon on Wednesday, January 30, in the BVM Cafeteria. Invitations for students and their parents will be sent home with students the week of January 21.
Students who received all A’s in both scholarship and citizenship on their first semester report card will be treated to a special luncheon on Tuesday, January 29, in the BVM cafeteria. Invitations for students and their parents will be sent home with students the week of January 21.
Students who have achieved reclassification as Fluent
English Proficient will be honored with a breakfast at 8:30 am on Friday, January 25, in the BVM Cafeteria. The breakfast will be followed by a meeting for all ELAC parents.
There will be no school on Monday, January 21, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr Day
Students and Staff will be on Winter Break beginning December 24 and ending January 14. Students return for the first day of the second semester on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
The Office will be open the week of January 7-11.
First Semester End of Course Exams will be given Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, December 17-19. All three days will be minimum days.
Thursday, December 2o, will be a regular day and Friday, December 21, will be a minimum day.
Report Cards will be mailed home sometime in January.
